Average wages up 3.6 percent y/y in 2Q

The average salary in Slovakia was up 3.6 percent on the year to EUR 758 a month in 2Q 2010, reports the Statistical Office today, 2 September.

This is an increase of 0.9 percent over the previous quarter.

The average salary in 1H 2010 increased by 2.8 percent year-on-year to EUR 741 a month.

The best paid jobs in the country in 2Q 2010 were in financial and insurance brokerage (EUR 1,517) and the IT sector (EUR 1,368).

As usual the lowest paid personnel were in the accommodation and restaurant sector, with just EUR 476 a month, closely followed by the sector of agriculture, forestry and fishing  with an average of EUR 544.
