Bratislava Airport puts on its ice hockey kit

Bratislava Airport is getting into the atmosphere of the Ice Hockey World Championships with some novel ideas that might confuse some passengers who are unaware that Slovakia is the venue for the event.

For the duration of the IIHF World Championships passenger services staff at the airport will be dressed up in the Slovak hockey team strip, while the more officious check-in staff will be adorned in referee kits, reports TASR newswire.

The airport has also made an effort by installing more information boards and various decorations to boost the ice hockey atmosphere, and a group of 20 volunteers will be on hand to provide initial advice to bewildered hockey fans as they get off their flights.

Other features include two table tennis tables to help travellers pass the time while waiting on their flights, something that the airport will hopefully continue after the tournament.
