Bratislava hotels enjoying 80% occupancy rate

The Slovak Hotels and Restaurants Association has estimated the occupancy rate of hotels in Bratislava during the Ice Hockey World Championships at as much as 80%, while the association believes this will increase further as later matches are shifted to Bratislava.

This fares well against the figures from the first quarter of 2011, as hotels only had their rooms full to around 38% on average. Many hotels, like other service businesses, have hiked up their prices for the Championships, but this has not deterred hockey fans, who basically have no choice but to pay anyway.
