Committee Registers 26 Parties for 2012 Elections

Slovak parliament - who will occupy the seats? (c) Tibor Macak, The Daily

The Central Election Committee has now registered all parties for the March 2012 elections and assigned them their respective election party numbers.

A total of 26 parties will battle for votes in the early election, brought on by the collapse of PM Iveta Radicova’s government in October after disagreement within the coalition over the EFSF vote. There are some contentions among parties as to each other’s registration or candidate slate, but these will not likely change anything.
