ICT sector tops the salary rankings

Although salaries in Slovakia have been creeping up slowly in the past few years, certain sectors have been enjoying consistently strong growth. This is particularly true of the ICT sector, where employees now enjoy an average wage of EUR 1,540, the highest average wage in the country.

In industry in general the average nominal wage is EUR 775, which is only slightly higher than the average in selected market services and the wholesale sector.

According to the Statistical Office SR, those working in the transport and storage segments had to make do with an average wage of EUR 697, while the average in the construction sector, at least officially, is EUR 562.

Further down the list we have those working in accommodation services (EUR 547), the retail business (EUR 539) and in restaurants and bars (EUR 356).
