Industrial production up 23.5% year-on-year

The Slovak Statistical Office released figures today, 9 August, that industrial production was up 23.5% year-on-year in June.

The increase was thanks primarily to a 24.4% growth in energy supplies and a 24% increase in manufacturing. The production of computers, electronics and optical products contributed most to overall growth, + 89.5% year-on-year, followed by the production of machinery, + 52.1%. The production of electrical devices was down by about 5% year-on-year.

Industrial production in Slovakia has enjoyed growth since November 2009. In the first six months of this year, overall industrial production was up 22% over last year.
