Italian Ferplast expands production near Nitra

Italian producer of metal products for the pet industry, Ferplast, plans to expand its plant in Nesvady near Nitra by another hall and so up its production capacities.

The company’s Slovak branch was given the thumbs up by the regional environmental authority to erect a fifth hall, which should be completed within six months.

The company produces a full range of pet products, from toys through to cages and dog kennels, and the new hall will focus on plastic and metal wire products with a complete finishing and packaging line.

The company also plans a logistics centre and its European sales centre in Nesvady in future.  The Slovak branch of Ferplast was established in 2003 and it will employ around 210 employees once the new hall is complete.
