Italian president Giorgio Napolitano will be visiting Bratislava on Friday to meet top Slovak dignitaries, the day after celebrating the 150th anniversary of the Republic of Italy.

During the 1-day trip Napolitano will be meeting up with his counterpart President Ivan Gasparovic, as well as Prime Minister Iveta Radicova and  parliamentary chairman Richard Sulik. He will be accompanied by his wife and the visit is intended to promote the already good relations between the two countries, which saw Slovakia generate a trade surplus of EUR 1.1 billion in 2010.
