Metal unions spark up protests

Trade unions affiliated in the KOVO association have decided to hold protest rallies in Kosice on 1 October and Zilina on 8 October in reaction to the austerity package of the government, as they feel it will strongly impact workers.

The rallies are intended to draw the public’s attention to the negative aspects of the package, and to aggrieve the fact that many of their proposals were ignored.

This comes at the same time as the trade union confederation has announced its plans for a protest on 12 October.
