European leaders will congregate in Brussels today to discuss future guidelines for the energy market in the European Union. Slovak PM Iveta Radicova will lead the Slovak delegation at the summit.

The central theme of discussions will be the Energy 2010 strategy, which the European Commission made public in November and which aims to improve and consolidate the EU energy market and energy security.

Another focus of the talks will be on innovation and its funding.
