Unemployment remains more or less stagnant y/y

The month-on-month change in the unemployment rate in Slovakia remained almost stable in August, dropping just 0.14 percentage points to 12.19%.

The figure comes from the Office of Labour, Social Affairs and Family (UPSVaR), meaning there were some 370,671 registered jobless in the country in August. Although down 3,758 over July, it is 8,100 more year-on-year.

The average duration of unemployment was 13.57 months in August, which is 2.5 months more year-on-year.
