Information has come to light that the crazed Norwegian killer Anders Behring Breivik sent his manifesto by e-mail to at least 19 Slovaks a few hours before he carried out his horrific plan, which saw 77 people killed on 22 July.
The report comes from the TV Joj website www.noviny.sk, which got its information from Belgium that 19 Slovaks were among the 1003 recipients of Breivik’s 1500-page document. Police spokeswoman Denisa Baloghova would not divulge if the police planned to take any steps or not.
It seems that most of the recipients have been selected by Breivik by chance, with some in the Czech Republic ignoring it as spam. SME daily cites two Slovaks who were in contact with Breivik: “I was in contact with him about a year ago through the SIOS forum on Facebook. He wrote only that I was courageous for preseting my opinion publicly”, said one young man from East Slovakia. Another confirmed that he had accepted Breivik’s friend request on FB but that he later cancelled it.
By all accounts, it seems that Breivik has been working in the background on the internet for some time, possibly looking for recruits or sympathisers, so there is always the possibility that he has some followers or loyal supporters spread around Europe.
