MPs are having their e-mail boxes targeted by thousands of e-mails these days in protest to the luxury of MP immunity, in an attempt to get them to slim the scope of immunity down.
As part of their Public Eye campaign, civil activists from UM! want the MPs to vote in favour of reducing their immunity at the upcoming session, as was promised during pre-election campaigns. The activists have bigger plans, though, as a protest and hunger strike in front of parliament are also planned if necessary.
The UM! initiative carried out a similar campaign in February, with around 180,000 e-mails bombarding the accounts of parliament and MPs in just one day. https://www.thedaily.sk/2011/02/16/top-news/activists-clog-up-mp-e-mail-boxes-with-electronic-protest/
