At long last, yesterday the Ministry of Health agreed with the doctors’ trade union LOZ on the new employment contracts of the 1,200 or so doctors who are officially unemployed at the moment after the mass resignation of over 2,400 doctors in October.

The news means the health service crisis is over and things should gradually return to normal, and so people can now happily get sick again and reschedule their cancelled operations.
The basis of the new contract is one drawn up by the University Hospital in Bratislava, as it modifies certain rights and obligations compared to their original employment contracts, which terminated on 30 November.
