AmCham approves new president

General Manager of Dell, s.r.o., Bratislava, Michael Smyth has taken up the post of president of the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) in Slovakia, replacing Robert Šimončič. The change comes after Šimončič resigned from the post, taking up the role of General Director of the Slovak Investment and Trade Development Agency (SARIO) on 1 June. THe Executive Committee vote Smyth as the new president last Friday, 11 June.
Smyth is no newcomer to AmCham, as he has been a member of the AmCham’s board since April 2008. He has worked for DELL around the world for over 20 years, comes from Ireland and lives here with his wife and two children.
AmCham was established in 1993, and now has over 300 companies in its member base, with 40% from Slovakia, 30% from the US and the other 30% from other countries.
