The police force in Bratislava will have between 700-1,000 police officers on duty over the next two weeks of the Ice Hockey World Championships set to start tomorrow. The figures were quoted yesterday at a press conference given by Bratislava region chief of police, Csaba Farago.

The officers will be ensuring traffic flow and assisting the many foreign fans and tourists who will descend on the city for the various matches. Mr. Farago says they have even assigned specific officers who speak a foreign language to the most frequented zones, and so this should help overcome any language barrier problems.
