The third year of the ‘Dolce VitaJ’ festival of Italian culture started yesterday and will go on for the whole of June, with various concerts, performances, presentations and, of course, lots of good food and wine.
The event, organised by Italian diplomatic and cultural institutions will last 30 days and provide a full calendar of events in various cities of Slovakia.
The series of events was launched last night on Hviezdoslavovo namestie in Bratislava with soloists from Teatro San Carlo di Napoli, who gave a concert entitled “from opera to Neapolitan songs.
The string quartet (2 violins, viola and cello) was joined by Luke Mennella (piano), Sabrina Messina (soprano), Francesco Malapena (soprano), and performed songs ranging from opera by Bizet, Puccini, Verdi and Lehar to popular Neapolitan songs full of pathos …
