The ninth CSOB Bratislava Marathon takes place this weekend, with the streets of Bratislava centre reserved for the record 8,700 runners taking part this year.
A surprising statistic was that there are 1,500 foreigners taking part in the races, which will take place from Friday 4 to Saturday 6 April.
All kinds of races are organised, from a kids run to the new History Run, passing all the main monuments in the city with a guide commentary, so you can run and have fun.
The 6-kilomtre History Run will take place on Friday (5pm) and Saturday (4pm) and there is no need to register. The whole weekend is accompanied by concerts on the Main Square and at Eurovea shopping centre. The full programme can be viewed here.
Traffic restrictions will apply for large parts of the city centre and beyond, so best avoided by car.
