Bucina halts production over shortage of wood

One of the biggest producers of chipboard in Slovakia, the company Bucina DDD, has been forced to halt production. Not because of a lack of orders or money, but because of a lack of wood.

The temporary shut down was necessary because saw mills are unable to provide Bucina with the various saw-mill materials, which account for as much as 70% of the company’s production inputs.

The short-term halt in production will not affect the company’s clients, though, as all orders will still be cleared as agreed.

Bucina DDD became part of the multinational Kronospan group in 2003, since which time some EUR 130 million has been invested on its production facilities.
