E.ON puts new combined cycle plant into service

After almost 2.5 years construction work, energy giant E.ON has put a new combined cycle power plant into service in Malzenice near Trnava.

The new steam-gas cycle plant has an installed capacity of 430 MW and has produced 30 jobs for the region. The plant was constructed according to schedule and cost EUR 400 million.

Combined cycle plants are highly efficient as they ‘recycle’ energy from excess steam to produce more efficient electricity.
