In November the Index of Economic Sentiment (IES) for Slovakia bounced back from the drop in October to increase slightly month-on-month by 0.7 points to 92.6 points, according to data from the Statistical Office SR today.
The slight improvement can be put down to greater confidence in the retail, services and construction sectors, which combated the drop in industrial confidence to 0.3 points from 2.3 points in October. The confidence in industry probably sagged because of weaker demand for products.
Confidence in the retail sector was up 3.7 points month-on-month to reach 15 points in November, while services enjoyed a 2.6 point growth to end at 26.3 points.
The figures have raised the optimism of the retail and services sectors in Slovakia, which should both do well also with the upcoming Christmas season ahead.
