Expats on Internationals Bratislava Trip to Sopron

If you’ve struggled to find fun and accessible multicultural  events in Bratislava in the past, get ready for a surprise! A total of 53 expats from exactly 25 countries and 5 continents set off together  from Bratislava on a one-day trip to the famous Hungarian town of Sopron. The trip was organised by Internationals Bratislava group, which organises regular trips and events designed for foreigners living in the country.

The group  visited the town of loyalty – Sopron, the Eszterházy chateau in Fertőd – the Hungarian Schönbrunn, and took a boat trip on Lake Fertő – the Hungarian part of the Austrian Neusiedl Lake. They enjoyed a wine tasting in a traditional Hungarian wine cellar. Everyone had their own sticker with name and flag on it so people could get to know each other easier.

Here are just some of the responses to the day trip.

Friends asked me why I like these kinds of organized trips. Well, the answer is simple. It is always interesting to meet and have a chat with people who had or are having the same experience abroad. Plus you visit nice cities and do new and interesting things like the wine tasting in Sopron this time.In my opinion it´s always good to broaden your horizon and these trips are a good opportunity to do that.

This past weekend I joined a mixed group of foreigners in Sopron and its surroundings, where we experienced many of it’s amazing sights including a visit to the Fertőd chateau, the historic centre of Sopron and even a boat trip on the Fertő lake. One of the highlights was the wine tasting in a beautiful wine cellar in Sopron. It was a pleasure to meet so many interesting people from all around the world. Internationals Bratislava is a great organization to be a part of.
