Fico Has Decided on New Heads of Ministries

Robert Fico has announced most of his choices for ministerial posts now, with Peter Žiga to take up the post of environment minister, head of the Slovak chamber of advocates Tomáš Borec to assume the role of justice minister, while Peter Kažimír will deal with the agenda of the Ministry of Finance.

The Ministry of Health will be run by Zuzana Zvolenská, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs by Miroslav Lajčák, Ministry of Education by Dušan Čaplovič, Ministry of Culture by Marek Maďarič and the Ministry of Interior by former minister and Fico’s right-hand man Robert Kalinak.

The Ministry of Agriculture looks set to be steered by Stanislav Becík, who already has experience in this role when he served under HZDS. The Ministry of Economy will be controlled by Jan Valko.

As already reported on TheDaily today, the Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs and Family will be run by Jan Richter, the Ministry of Defence by Martin Glvac, while The Ministry of Transport, Construction and EU Funds will be controlled by former finance minister Jan Pociatek.

  1. No DC, but surely a job for smug Mike, in the Slovak Ministry of Mistakes ….currently being tipped to be headed by Mária Lévyová, the chair of the Chamber of Nurses.

  2. There is a small mistake in the topic – Ministry of Interior runned by Miroslav Lajcak in the upper part of the text ( left side from the foto of PM ).
