October saw the Slovak Republic with a surplus of EUR 145.3 million in its foreign trade balance, according to data of the Statistical Office SR. The latest figures show optimistic growth as the surplus in September was much less at EUR 39.9 million.
Exports were up 16.7% year-on-year to EUR 4.72 billion, but imports also expanded by 22.4% to produce a figure of EUR 4.57 billion.
Compared with the first ten months of 2009, exports grew 22% while a 23.9% growth was posted in imports, producing a foreign trade surplus of EUR 489.4 million.
