Former policeman could face 12 years for failed armed robbery

A former policeman held up a bank in Humenne on Monday morning shortly after 7 am. The man was armed with a pistol, but eventually left through the back door with no money.

The 41 year old man from Brestova demanded EUR 15,000 from the bank clerks, but there was not enough money in the safe and so he decided to leave with nothing. The next morning he even turned himself into the police, which means he could face between 7 and 12 years in jail for the failed robbery.

The police picked the man and the weapon up from where he himself said he would be. Nobody was hurt in the incident and the man is now in custody repenting.
