This weekend Bratislava bursts into spring with Free Bratislava weekend, meaning galleries, museums and other public services will be free of charge in city-wide open days.
Free Bratislava will run from 24th-26th April with free entry to museums, galleries, palaces, public sports facilities, swimming pools, tour guides and more, and a whole array of accompanying concerts and events. You can take a free ride on the vintage buses that tour the city, for instance, or go backstage at the theatre on Laurinska street, while Stara Trznica will be host to arts and crafts on Sunday afternoon.
Things will be taking place throughout the city, especially for children, like free pony rides at the horse racing track in Petrzalka. The highly popular Patrizanska Luka will be the venue for various games and competitions, a bouncy castle, trampolines, dinghy rides, and a bonfire at 5pm. Jakubovo Namestie will host Dobry Trhy (Good Market), creating a great street atmosphere with homemade food and drinks.
