German University Gets Thumbs Up from Minister

Education minister Dusan Caplovic has done a U-turn on his declaration after being appointed that no new schools would be accredited, as he has now given the green light to the German language Goethe University in Bratislava, which had its application pending and is due to start full operation this September.

Caplovic said the exception was made because of the new university’s association with the German Embassy and the Goethe University in Frankfurt, denoting a high standard. He also pointed out how the school would attract students from the surrounding countries as German was the tuition language, adding that he welcomes international competition as it can put positive pressure on the standard of university education overall.
