GLOBSEC security conference in Bratislava

On 13 – 14 September, Bratislava will play host to the global security conference GLOBSEC 2010. The conference will be attended by the new foreign ministers from the Visegrad Four countries.

The annual Central European event GLOBSEC, which started in 2005,  will see addresses from foreign affairs minister Mikulas Dzurinda and his counterparts from Hungary – Janos Martonyi, the Czech Republic – Karel Schwarzenberg and Polish deputy foreign minister – Mikolaj Dowgielewicz.

The V4 diplomats will hold an advance meeting to discuss the U.S. anti-missile defence shield in the Czech Republic and Poland. Their meeting will deal with new agreements and the financial prospects in the area of security for 2014-2020.

The regular V4 summit, which this year will also be the 20th anniversary, is planned for the end of the year and may also be attended by German chancellor Angela Merkel.
