Government hopes to annul ‘Meciar’s’ amnesty

Spokesman for the Christian democrat party KDH, Martin Krajcovic, informed press agency TASR that one of the things outlined in the preamble to the Manifesto is that the government wants to prepare a constitutional law that will counteract the amnesty introduced by Vladimir Meciar back in 1998, when he was acting as interim president.

Krajcovic added that among other things the amnesty had prevented a full criminal investigation into the alleged abduction of the son of former president Michal Kovac in 1995.
