The three MPs from the Obycajni Ludia faction (Jozef Viskupic, Martin Fecko and Erika Jurinova) have decided to remain in coalition party SaS. They made the announcement today following a meeting with SaS party heads.
On the condition, though, that if Obycajni Ludia decides to establish its own political party, they will be able to leave without resistance from the SaS. The fourth OL MP, Igor Matovic, who is now independent, says he welcomes the decision and that it is good his colleagues did not make a “harsh decision”.
So the government still holds its majority in parliament, at least for now, even though voting on the appointment of a new Attorney General and on the Citizenship Act have shown that a parliamentary majority means nothing without the complete loyalty of your MPs.
