Government plane rescues 45 from Egypt

The government plane that was sent to Egypt to pluck Slovaks out of the country, which is experiencing revolt, arrived safely at Bratislava Airport yesterday evening.

The plane was carrying 45 people (34 Slovaks, 8 Czechs, 2 Portuguese and a Hungarian) who took advantage of the Slovak government’s kind offer to be transported to Slovakia.

The government plane firstly picked up people from Cairo, where public unrest is at its strongest, and then collected some from Hurghada before flying back to Bratislava. The people in Hurghada said the situation there was calm, although they were strongly advised not to leave the hotel complex.
