It’s official; Slovakia Has New PM and Government

It’s official, the Slovak Republic now has a new government, the first stand-alone government in Slovakia’s almost 23 years of democratic history. led by Prime Minister Robert Fico, who took his constitutional oath and was appointed Prime Minister today by President Ivan Gasparovic.

All of the 150 members of parliament, including the PM, all swore their oaths today also, and so parliament now has a new shape, with a government majority of 83 seats from 150.

In appointing the new PM, the President noted: “I would like to say that you will have support in me, so that together we will keep the Slovak Republic always on the level of an acknowledged republic that takes care of its citizens and is acknowledged in international politics as a trustworthy partner. I will keep my fingers crossed for you on this”.

“I would like to express my sincere thanks and I greatly appreciate your words and your readiness to support the Government of the Slovak Republic and me personally in taking fundamental decisions”, the new PM Robert Fico replied.

    Oh that`s all OK then people, Gasparovic is going to cross his fingers . There is hope for us all . Stupid old fool , you are meant to be working for the people, protecting their interests and sacking any Government Officer or Minister that gets caught with their fingers in the Public Purse , not sucking up to Bobby no Mates and brown nosing Smer . Geeeeeze The President ? Is this guy from a village or what !?!
