Following a meeting with his Polish counterpart yesterday, President Ivan Gasparovic has underlined the importance of developing better road connections with Poland.
Polish president Bronislaw Komorowski said he would be putting pressure on the Slovak government to give the road connection between the two countries a higher priority and to draw up a construction plan.
Other issues outlined by Bronowski in his talks with Gasparovic included the establishment of a House of Slovak Culture in Poland, with the polish village of Jablonka north of Orava chosen as the location.
Progress in the project to connect a gas interconnector between the two countries was also on the agenda, something that is supported by the European Union and about which the Slovak and Polish gas transmission system operators have already signed an agreement.
