Lipsic praises police handling of football fans

Interior Minister Daniel Lipsic praised the Bratislava Police Force on how they dealt with the second leg of the UEFA Europa League third round qualifier between Slovan Bratislava and Red Star Belgrade on Thursday. The fans of Red Star have a reputation for causing trouble and so police security was increased for the event.

“The police are here to ensure security, order and protect decent people. I’m proud of them,” said Lipsic in a statement.

The match ended 1-1 meaning Slovan went through 3-2 on aggregate.
