A 40-year-old man from Slovakia has been acquitted of the attempted murder of his estranged wife two years ago after a jury found him not guilty by reason of insanity.
Alexander Gano had pleaded not guilty at the Central Criminal Court to the attempted murder of Monica Ganova in Dublin, Ireland in July 2010.
The court heard how he attacked his estranged wife with a knife and she had to be treated for a deep laceration to her neck because he believed she and a local kebab shop, were trying to poison him.
Gano also believed his wife was a threat to Slovakia and that he was going to kill her and then kill himself.
Come on DC, how would you realise he was was a loony along with all the Irish ones?
Expat. the only guy on this forum with a medical certificate, to prove he is sane .
I’d stop eating at that Kebab Place first, then kick the women to the kirb! Insanity is in us all, the degree of it is determined by our actions!
Come on Ireland! Two years to realise he was a loony.
