The government is determined to give minorities a better deal and more support. One of the ways it wants to do this is by drawing up a law supporting the preservation and growth of minority cultures, and this objective is included in the Manifesto passed yesterday, 28 July.
The Manifesto outlines that “the state must provide active support to aid the process of preserving and boosting minority cultures and their education”. The government will also endeavour to create appropriate space for intercultural dialogue, with the chief aim of “improving Slovak-Hungarian relations and relations between the majority population and the Roma minority, in order to promote inclusive perceptions and the exercise of citizenship,” states the Manifesto.
