Another piece of news that came out of the Coalition Council meeting yesterday, was that the minimum wage would be raised by 3% starting next year.
The wage hike was one of the problems in tripartite talks last week between the government, employers and trade unions. Employers were against the government’s plan to increase the minimum wage from EUR 307.70 to EUR 317.00, which is why the social partners failed to agree.
The government will make the final decision about the minimum wage, which will affect almost 2% of the workforce in the country.
