Economy minister Juraj Miskov (SaS party) continued with the traditional post-election ‘head-chopping’ by announcing his plans to replace the top dogs of three key ministry-controlled business agencies.
Among others, minister Miskov has ordered the recall of Robert Simoncic as head of the Slovak Agency for Investment and Trade Development (SARIO), even though Simoncic only took up the post just over a month ago. General Director of the Slovak Innovation and Energy Agency (SIEA), Martin Vavrinka, has also been given the chop, being joined also by head of the National Agency for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (NADSME), Milan Jankura.
The Ministry wants to fill the vacant posts through a regular selection procedure, by which it hopes to find the right ‘mind set’ to run the agencies more effectively. The recruitment procedure will begin soon.
