The Economy Ministry has announced its plans for the energy sector, which include backing for the construction of a new nuclear power plant at the Jaslovske Bohunice site, where a nuclear power plant already stands.
The government has put a condition on its support, though, i.e. that the whole project be built without state financing. The proposal from the Economy Ministry states that ‘support of the Slovak government is conditioned to a private investment without the participation of additional public sources’.
A feasibility study is in preparation by Jadrova Energeticka Spolocnost Slovenska on the construction of the new source at the site of the old V1 unit, which is still being decommissioned.
