Ms. Montgomery, who has been in diplomatic service for around 26 years, will replace Michael Roberts after he recently retired from service. Ms Montgomery joined the FCO in 1995 and has held posts in the likes of Moscow, Paris and the UN in New York.

“I am delighted to be returning to a country for which I have not only deep affection, but also admiration for what it has achieved. The relationship between Britain and Slovakia continues to grow, and I look forward to doing all I can to help develop it further” she said.
