Web portal PlastEurope.com reports on the planned investment of U.S. companies Washington Penn Plastic and Uniform Color Company, which have applied for a building permit for a new PP compounds and masterbatch plant in Voderady, near Trvana.
The investment will cost the two companies around EUR 8 million and they hope to launch construction in February 20111 already, finishing in August. The plant will be located near the Samsung LCD TV plant and will employ a workforce of around 85 and cover some 39,000 m2.
Washington Penn is one of North America’s leading polyolefin compounders with several plants in the US and one in Mexico. UCC operates a facility each in the US and Mexico and also has a plant in Otrokovice, Czech Republic. The companies are both part of the Audia Group holding.
