State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Milan Jezovica, met with incoming US Ambassador to Slovakia Theodore Sedgwick yesterday, 5 August. Sedgwick officially handed over his credentials to the State Secretary.
Jezovica commented that the arrival of the new ambassador will create the conditions for general development of amicable relations between Slovakia and the USA.
“Together with Ambassador Sedgwick, we agreed on the need for the countries to cooperate more, especially in the field of economics”, said Jezovica. Both representatives declared their interest in continuing cooperation in the fight against global security threats.
Theodore Sedgwick has extensive experience as a business executive, having launched and operated publishing and timber companies. He served as the company’s chief executive for twenty years. Mr. Sedgwick graduated with honours from Harvard College, where he majored in Ottoman History.
