On the occasion of International Museum Day this Saturday 14 May, Slovak museums and galleries will hold their annual Night at the Museum event for the seventh time, with their doors flung open till midnight, giving museum-lovers a different kind of experience.
Visitors will have the chance to visit parts of museums and galleries that are normally closed to the public, like the vaults, with various accompanying activities and explanations, giving a deeper insight into the work that goes on in Slovak museums and galleries. The already low admission fees have also been cut for the event.
Some of the premises will be putting on concerts, drama pieces, dance performances or organising creative workshops. Don’t be too surprised if the occasional ghost pops up, either.
A good evening is guaranteed for all the family as the museums come to life, but not quite like in the film.
