On Friday, 30 July, Foreign Affairs Minister, Mikulas Dzurinda said he saw no problem in Slovakia supporting the American anti-missile defence programme, in which the Czech Republic will participate.
Former PM Dzurinda said it would not be a problem if the programme is agreed on by the US, NATO and the Czech Republic. “Everything is about dialogue and a co-ordinated approach. We can’t just remain inactive considering new threats, pretending that the threats don’t exist. Such an attitude would be highly irresponsible”, he said.
The United States have not yet officially requested Slovakia’s co-operation in the programme, says Dzurinda.
