PM Radicova visits flood areas

Prime Minister Iveta Radicova made a trip to the east of the country today, not to increase her popularity (as the elections are now over) and not because she has a lot of free time (the burden facing her as the new PM is enormous), but so she could see for herself the extent of damage caused by the extensive floods that have left many families in total desperation.

The other reason for her visit was to speak to local companies about their economic situation and about how the government could help. She assessed specific damages in certain municipalities so she could give the go-head for targeted aid.

She did not fail to mention how no regular and systemic steps had been taken to mitigate the catastrophe, essentially referring to the promises and steps, or lack of them, of the former government.
