There will be no special performance bonuses handed out to regional heads of the police force as Police commissioner Jaroslava Spisiak is not happy with the results, or with the problem of corruption and cronyism still.
The news was confirmed for daily Hospodarske Noviny by Zilina police chief, Peter Fizel, who did not receive his bonus for 1H 2011, but commissioner Spisiak was not available for comment.
Spisiak’s discontent comes just a few weeks after he was boasting about the police’s results, claiming they had met their objectives to almost 104%. Even so, before setting off on holiday he convened the regional chiefs and even threatened to dismiss those who didn’t pull their socks up and meet the targets.
Spisiak himself received a performance bonus for 1H 2011, a small part of which went to pay a fine for his excessive speeding.
