According to provisional data from the National Bank of Slovakia, the country’s balance of payments was up by almost EUR 75 million in February to produce a surplus of EUR 363.4 million.
Among other things, the monthly rise in the balance of payments of the current account is put down to a higher foreign trade balance, which was about EUR 84 million higher than in January (ending at EUR 347.7 million). Better drawing of EU funds also assisted, as they turned the deficit in current transfers into a surplus.
Another month of good figures, most excellent! Let us all hope and pray Bobby no Mates and crew don’t cock it up!
