Slovak public broadcaster RTVS looks set to announce 300 or so redundancies according to an article today in daily Hospodarske Noviny.
Financial difficulties are behind the job cuts at the broadcaster, which arose out of the merger of Slovak TV and radio at the beginning of the year. Although the RTVS spokesman Richard Sumeghy is keeping quiet for the moment, HN reports that the redundancies will affect all fields of activity, with as many as 39 jobs cited to go at the news service.
When I first watched STV , now RTVS there were passed over, Actors and Newsreaders that actually appeared in sequined outfits that introduced the next TV Program …it was like a throw back to the UKBBCTV in the 60`s .
STV has been long overstaffed with deadwood, cronies (as has the UKBBC) and time for a reality check in years 2012!
