Projections of average inflation for 2010 improve

The projections about the rise in prices of goods and services in Slovakia have been adjusted, as bank analysts now believe the growth this year will be less marked than originally expected.

The analysts cut their average inflation estimates for 2010 to 1.6% in October from the September level of 1.8%. The new figures were released by the National Bank of Slovakia (NBS).

The projection of analysts for GDP growth remains unchanged, however, at 4.1% in fixed prices for 2010. The Ministry of Finance is being a little more cautious, though, putting its figure at 4%, while the NBS has stuck its neck out with an estimate of 4.3%, while noting that next year the growth will slow down quite dramatically.
