Yet another protest march is set to take place this Saturday 13 October in Bratislava, this time under the banner “Together for a decent and safe life”, but there are fears that the undertones of the protest will lead to friction.

The protest organisers have approached the police requesting their protection from human rights activists, as the protest has been labelled by some as being racist or even extremist. The protest is essentially demanding protection of “decent” people in Slovakia from certain anti-socials, namely many ethnic Roma citizens.
Even the head of the Institute of Human Rights, Peter Weisenbacher, lodged a request to ban the march, which should start from the main train station in Bratislava at 3pm, ending up in front of Bratislava Castle.
